Philadelphia Writing Program Administrators affiliates received major awards at the 2018 flagship convention in writing studies, the Conference on College Composition and Communication in Kansas City, MO. The conference is a constituent organization within the National Council of Teachers of English.
- Temple University Professor of English Eli Goldblatt won the Richard Braddock Award for "the outstanding article on writing or the teaching of writing" in College Composition and Communication: "Don’t Call It Expressivism: Legacies of a 'Tacit Tradition,'" CCC vol. 68, No. 3 (2017): 438-465.
- The Critical Writing Program at University of Pennsylvania earned a CCCC Writing Program Certificate of Excellence. "Recipients must demonstrate several criteria, including current best practices, exemplary professional development and treatment of faculty, creative response to student, instructor, institutional, and local needs, attention to diversity, and administration with credentials and publications in the field of writing studies."
