Announcing: PWPA Fall 2022 Workshop!

Announcing: PWPA Fall 2022 Workshop!

Dear PWPA Members and Friends,

We are pleased to invite you to our fully online Fall 2022 PWPA event on Friday, October 28, 2022, hosted by Drexel University. For this day-long workshop, we will focus on mental health and the writing classroom, offering a variety of sessions with both colleagues and invited guests. No registration is required, and you’ll find the Zoom information further below. While the fall workshop is free, and access to high-quality professional development and networking opportunities is part of our mission, we do hope that you or your institution can become a paying member to support our work and cover costs associated with the event.

We are particularly excited about our keynote speaker, the award-winning Melissa Tayles, who will run the workshop “Normalizing and Regulating the Stress of Academic Writing.” We encourage you to read her article “Trauma-Informed Writing Pedagogy: Ways to Support Student Writers Affected by Trauma and Traumatic Stress” in advance or this excerpt.
